Store card far predate VISA/MC consolidation. They have highly evolved since then. It used to be that cards were issued by respective stores for credit toward their products. Nowadays it is mostly a rebranding of a VISA/MC with a company logo. The issue of higher rates associated with such cards seems to be a problem, even though mot can be ued anywhere V/MC accepted. Are there any low APR/fee winner out there?

I do have a credit card that I can use for 3 stores but the clothing stores are linked together by owners. The interest rate is right in the middle but I must say I didn't get approved for enough credit line on it so I do not use it anymore. I am not sure of any lower fees/interest on/at other stores.

I never used a store credit card but have been thinking about it. I was wanting to know if we pay them directly, the store that is, every month instead of sending a payment through the mail. Also, do they give you a small amount to spend or is it based on your credit?
