Citi Driver's Edge M
asterCard – 6% off gas/grocery/drugs, plus 1% off
everything else, with the opportunity to double the rewards based on
miles driven, as long as the cashback is taken in the form of a rebate
on auto repair or purchase
Discover More card – 5% off travel
Chase Professional MasterCard – 3% off Home Improvement, Office Stores, Restaurants, 1% off everything else
Chase
Freedom Visa – 3% off three of fifteen categories of spending (I have
two Freedom cards with which I've currently chosen to get 3% off
Telephone, Satellite, Commuting, Department Stores, Dry Cleaners, and
Movies)
CostCo American Express Card – 5% off gas, 3% off restaurants, 2% off travel, 1% off everything else
BofA Pet Rewards Visa – 4% off Pet Expenses, 2% off everything else
If
I were to simplify (ha!), I might just carry the Citi Driver's Edge; I
see it as the most valuable overall. I'd also consider the AmEx Blue
Cash, which offers up to 5% off gas/grocery/drug and up to 1.5% off
everything else. Combine that with the Chase Freedom for three
categories, and you've got a nice two-card approach. But I doubt I
could bring myself to do that; I'll go for the multi-card approach.
